The GeekaPC Eclipse is a mid-tower gaming PC built to offer solid performance at 1440p in various modern AAA games and Esports titles. It is equipped with either an AMD Radeon RX 9070 in White or the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, which is also colour-matched to fit the theme of the build.
At the core of the Eclipse PC build is the AMD Ryzen 5 7600, a firm favourite on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel. This process has six cores and twelve threads, running at a blazing-fast clock speed of 5.1GHz. Its low power budget allows it to sustain this high clock speed, making it excellent at gaming when paired with the right graphics card.
The Phanteks Glacier One 360 M25 liquid cooler ensures the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 stays cool. This 360mm unit features three 120mm M25 fans that magnetise together, allowing for quick and easy installation. All three fans and the CPU pump block light up with vibrant RGB, all synced up through the case, matching the lighting across the build.
The Phanteks Eclipse G400A houses all of this system's parts. The smaller sibling of the G600A, this case comes with four pre-installed 140mm fans (three at the front and one at the rear), colour-matched to the chassis, which in this instance is white. The front of the case has a metal mesh design, providing ample airflow and allowing the RGB fans to shine easily. There's plenty of space for additional fans, cooling support, and a large graphics card.
For RAM, we've opted for a reliable Corsair Vengeance DDR5 kit. This Corsair Vengeance RAM has a strip of RGB LEDs lighting the top, all of which can be controlled through the iCUE software. The base configuration of this build has 32GB of RAM, which is plenty for gaming, but it can be increased to 64GB for those who need a little bit more 'oomph' from this Eclipse PC build.
Housing all of your games and applications is the Crucial P3 Plus. This speedy Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD offers solid read and write speeds. The base model of this build uses 1TB of storage, but, again, this can be increased to 2TB and 4TB for those looking to install plenty of games, extra files and applications.
Lastly, the Corsair RM750e, hiding in the chamber at the bottom case, is a hardy unit offering 750W of power. It features an 80 Plus Cybernetics Gold efficiency rating and provides more than enough juice for our build configuration.
This build is based directly on a system James recommended on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel, and you can view the full build video below. In the video, James shows how this system is built, the things he likes about the build, and covers the things he doesn't like so much in the build process. We highly recommend watching the video below before buying:
*Note: The GPU model shown in the video and attached photos is the Sapphire Pure RX 7800 XT. GeekaPC reserves the right to use any RX 9070 or RTX 5070 model as requested, depending on real-time availability.
CPU (Processor): AMD Ryzen 5 7600
The AMD Ryzen 5 7600 is a fantastic CPU when it comes to gaming at 1080p and 1440p. The reason we did not opt for the newer Ryzen 5 9600X instead is due to the limited performance upside.
CPU Cooler: Phanteks Glacier One 360 M25
The Phanteks Glacier One 360 M25 is a gorgeous white liquid CPU cooler designed to keep the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 nice and cool. It offers glorious customisable RGB lighting which can be synced up with the other parts in this build.
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI 7 ICE
When it comes to white themed PC components, we are continually impressed by Gigabyte's ever growing lineup of great looking boards and GPUs.
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 AMD
32GB or 64GB of blazing-fast DDR5 RAM is ample for gaming on this PC build.
SSD: Crucial P3 Plus
The Crucial P3 Plus is a firm favourite on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel due to its reliability, fast Gen4 NVMe speeds and various capacities available.
GPU (Option 1): AMD Radeon RX 9070
The Radeon RX 9070 is a solid GPU for 1440p gaming, providing high framerates.
GPU (Option 2): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070
NVIDIA's RTX 5070 is an excellent graphics card for 1440p gaming. It offers solid framerates across many titles, which can be further bolstered in DLSS-supported games.
Case: Phanteks Eclipse G400A
The Phanteks Eclipse G400A is a stunning mid-tower white PC case equipped with four 140mm fans, and offering plenty of space for modern components. It also features a metal mesh front panel to provide ample airflow.
PSU: Corsair RM750e
For this build, 750W of power is more than enough juice for the component selection. The Corsair RM750e is an efficient, low-noise unit handling this system's power consumption.
Operating System: Windows 11
All of our systems come preinstalled with an activated copy of Windows 11 set to the 'Out of Box Experience'. This allows you to set the PC back up to your liking.
