Specifications

The GeekaPC Prince build is a solid 1440p gaming PC housed inside the Montech King 65 Pro chassis. Gamers have the choice between the AMD RX 9060 XT 16GB and an NVIDIA RTX 5060 graphics cards, which are great GPU options capable of providing solid framerates at both 1080p and 1440p.

At the core of this build is the AMD Ryzen 5 9600. This processor is a firm favourite on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel due to its versatility and substantial value. The Ryzen 5 9600 has a low power budget, allowing it to maintain its 5.2GHz boost clock speed, making it a solid competitor in games when paired with the right graphics card.

The UpHere up1KC4 keeps the Ryzen 5 9600 cool. This is a single tower air cooler with a strip of RGB down the middle, and should be ample to keep the Ryzen 5 9600 from throttling.

The Montech King 65 Pro provides a home for all of these components. It is the smaller sibling of the extremely popular King 95 Pro, which is a go-to recommendation for those looking to pick up a robust mid-range case. The King 65 Pro has all of the great features and design qualities of the King 95 Pro but in a smaller form factor. It utilises dual tempered glass panels, tool-less mechanisms to quickly release the outer panels, and three pre-installed fans that provide ample airflow straight out of the box.

For RAM, this build uses a Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RGB kit, rated at 32GB (2 x 16GB). This memory is incredibly reliable and offers a solid speed and latency. The capacity can also be bumped up to 64GB (2 x 32GB) for those looking to need a bit more power from the RAM.

Regarding storage, the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB has returned. This Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD is used regularly across many of our mid-range and budget PC builds on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel due to its robust performance and competitive pricing. This build uses 1TB for the base configuration, but there are 2TB and 4TB capacities available for gamers who need more storage space.

Finally, this gaming PC is powered by the Corsair RM750e power supply. It offers 750W of power, which is more than ample for the parts we've chosen. This unit is well-built, provides an 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating, and uses the ATX 3.0 standard, which offers streamlined cabling for both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards.

This build has a dedicated video on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel where the host, James Cousins, details the entire step-by-step process. He covers each component's pros (and cons), along with a suite of gaming benchmarks at the end, providing an idea of how this system performs.

*Note: The GPU model shown in the video and attached photos is the Gigabyte RX 9060 XT 16GB Gaming OC. GeekaPC reserves the right to use any model of the RX 9060 XT 16GB or RTX 5060 as selected, depending on real-time availability.

CPU (Processor): AMD Ryzen 5 9600
The AMD Ryzen 5 9600 is a fantastic CPU when it comes to gaming at 1080p and 1440p. The reason we did not opt for the newer Ryzen 5 9600X instead is due to the limited performance upside.

CPU Cooler: UpHere up1KC4
This single air tower cooler offers an RGB strip down the middle and provides ample cooling to ensure the Ryzen 5 9600 performs optimally.

Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 Eagle WiFi6E
With strong connectivity, on-board WiFi and AMD EXPO support the B850 Eagle WiFi6E remains a firm favourite in our builds.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5
Corsair's range of RAM DIMMs provides a great option for builds powered by a TeamRed CPU. They offer better compatibility, reliability, and excellent speeds and latency.

SSD: Crucial P3 Plus
The Crucial P3 Plus is a firm favourite on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel due to its reliability, fast Gen4 NVMe speeds and various capacities available.

GPU (Option 1): AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT
The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is one of AMD's budget-oriented options of 2025. Equipped with 16GB of VRAM, this card is more than capable of offering high framerates at 1440p, putting it on par with NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti across a range of AAA titles.

GPU (Option 2): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 is an excellent graphics card for playing your favourite titles at 1080p. With the bonus addition of DLSS and Frame Gen, playing your favourite games at high framerates is no issue for this card!

Case: Montech King 65 Pro
This case is the smaller sibling of Montech's highly popular King 95 Pro. It utilises all of the excellent features that made the King 95 Pro popular but slims it down into a smaller form factor, ideal for those with less desk space.

PSU: Corsair RM750e
For a build like this, a strong 750w unit is perfect when it comes to power. The RM750e from Corsair is one of the best reviewed around.

Operating System: Windows 11
All of our systems come preinstalled with an activated copy of Windows 11 set to the 'Out of Box Experience'. This allows you to set the PC back up to your liking.
