The GeekaPC 'Expert' is an excellent PC aimed at 1440p gaming, housed inside Montech's King 45 Pro chassis. Those looking to pick up this awesome system have the choice between the AMD Radeon RX 9070, or the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, both of which are powerful graphics cards designed to offer solid framerates in a huge range of modern and Esports titles.
AMD's Ryzen 5 9600X is the brains of the Expert GeekaPC build. This Ryzen 9000 option builds upon the success of previous generations' Ryzen 5 7600X by offering better efficiency, resulting in lower temperatures and higher clock speeds. Its low-power budget allows the Ryzen 5 9600X to maintain its 5.4GHz boost speed, giving it an edge in modern games.
The Montech HyperFlow ARGB 360 ensures the Ryzen 5 9600X remains cool. This 360mm liquid cooling unit is equipped with three 120mm fans, which push cool air through the radiator. Each fan lights up with vibrant RGB, and the CPU pump block can be synced with various RGB software.
The Montech King 45 Pro is the chassis providing a home for this system. This is the smaller sibling of the King 95 Pro, equipped with a similar curved panoramic glass front and side so you can view the build in its entirety. The major change to this case is that it's a smaller dual-chamber design, taking up less space on your desk, while allowing you to enjoy plenty of clearance, excellent airflow and a unique aesthetic.
For RAM, this build uses a reliable Kingston Fury Beast RGB kit, offering great latency and speeds. Those looking to provide more oomph for their build can increase the RAM capacity from 32GB to 64GB.
For storage, our builds utilise either the Lexar EQ790, or the Biwin Black Opal NV7400. Both are high-performance Gen4 drives, capable of reaching strong read and write speeds. Gamers have the choice between 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, depending on how much space is needed for all of your games.
Lastly, powering this build is the Corsair RM750e power supply. This is a 750W unit, and it features a fully modular cabling system and 80 Plus Gold efficiency, ensuring minimal power is lost as additional heat or noise.
This build has a dedicated video on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel where the host, James Cousins, details the entire step-by-step process. He covers each component's pros (and cons), along with a suite of gaming benchmarks at the end, providing an idea of how this system performs.
*Note: The GPU model shown in the video and attached photos is the Gigabyte RX 9070 Gaming OC. GeekaPC reserves the right to use any model of the RX 9070 or RTX 5070 as selected, depending on real-time availability.
