Specifications

The GeekaPC Emperor build is an excellent 1440p and 4K gaming PC encased inside the Montech King 65 Pro case. Gamers have the choice between the new AMD RX 9070 XT and NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards, which are great GPU options capable of providing impressive framerates in modern titles at 1440p with excellent performance at 4K too.

At the core of the Emperor build is the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X. This mid-range Ryzen CPU has eight cores, sixteen threads, and a clock speed of 5.5GHz. It's a solid processor across the board and offers stronger efficiency than its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 7700X.

The Montech HyperFlow 360 ARGB keeps the Ryzen 7 9700X cool. This 360mm liquid cooling unit has a vibrant RGB panel on top of the CPU pump, and the large radiator ensures quiet operation under load. The RGB lighting is also fully programmable, allowing you to change colours and lighting effects across the entire build.

The King 65 Pro provides a home for all of these components. It is the smaller sibling of the extremely popular King 95 Pro, which is a go-to recommendation for those looking to pick up a robust mid-range case. The King 65 Pro has all of the great features and design qualities of the King 95 Pro but in a smaller form factor. It utilises dual tempered glass panels, tool-less mechanisms to quickly release the outer panels, and three pre-installed fans that provide ample airflow straight out of the box.

For RAM, this build uses a Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RGB kit, rated at 32GB (2 x 16GB). This memory is incredibly reliable and offers a solid speed and latency. The capacity can also be bumped up to 64GB (2 x 32GB) for those looking to need a bit more power from the RAM.

Regarding storage, the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB has returned. This Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD is used regularly across many of our mid-range and budget PC builds on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel due to its robust performance and competitive pricing. This build uses 1TB for the base configuration, but there are 2TB and 4TB capacities available for gamers who need more storage space.

Finally, this gaming PC is powered by the Corsair RM850e power supply. It offers 850W of power, which is more than ample for the parts we've chosen. This unit is well-built, provides an 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating, and uses the ATX 3.1 standard, which offers streamlined cabling for both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards.

This build has a dedicated video on the GeekaWhat YouTube channel where the host, James Cousins, details the entire step-by-step process. He covers each component's pros (and cons), along with a suite of gaming benchmarks at the end, providing an idea of how this system performs.

CPU (Processor): AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
The Ryzen 7 9700X is an eight-core, sixteen-thread monster offering excellent performance for 1440p gaming and above. When combined with the right graphics card, this CPU is more than capable of handling modern titles.
:

CPU Cooler: Montech HyperFlow 360mm
This AIO (all-in-one) is more than capable of handling the temperatures of the Ryzen 5 9600X, and it offers plenty of customisable RGB lighting, which can be configured within a range of software.

Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 Eagle AX
With strong connectivity, on-board WiFi and AMD EXPO support the Gigabyte X870 Eagle AX remains a firm favourite in our builds, and is a well-rounded mid-range motherboard.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RGB
Corsair's range of RAM DIMMs provides a great option for builds powered by a TeamRed CPU. They offer better compatibility, reliability, and gorgeous RGB lighting.

SSD: Crucial P310
The Crucial P310 is a high-performance SSDs designed to offer blazing-fast load and boot times in your favourite games.

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
NVIDIA's RTX 5070 Ti is an excellent graphics card for 1440p and 4K gaming. It offers solid framerates across many titles, which can be further bolstered in DLSS-supported games.

Case: Montech King 65 Pro
This case is the smaller sibling of Montech's highly popular King 95 Pro. It utilises all of the excellent features that made the King 95 Pro popular but slims it down into a smaller form factor, ideal for those with less desk space.

PSU: Corsair RM850e
For a build like this, a strong 850W unit is perfect when it comes to power. The RM850e from Corsair is one of the best-reviewed around.

Operating System: Windows 11
All of our systems come preinstalled with an activated copy of Windows 11 set to the 'Out of Box Experience'. This allows you to set the PC back up to your liking.
